With a strong emphasis on hands-on learning and exposure to the latest technology, students dive into music production with confidence, in an intimate 8 student classroom environment. Students will experience:

* Writing, producing and recording
* Composition and simple sound creation
* Mastering and mixing processes

Establishing a strong foundation on which they can create the music they love. In addition to the software components we focus on hardware mixers, compressors, microphones, and synthesizers.

In the first module, we will introduce the student to the fundamentals of music production using Reason and Ableton Live. This module will cover everything from song structure and arrangement to the basics of recording including but not be limited to:

* Signal processing
* The use of effects
* Fundamentals of mixing

Students will work hand in hand with instructors using today’s most popular programs and plug-ins. They will be expected to complete lab assignments and work on developing their production skills through the creation of loops, beats, and chord progressions. At the completion of this module, they will record their song and make a CD.
